It is reduced space in each unit of the current requirements 0.25 square meters to 10 square meters through legal approval. This really compact living apartments still offers a comfortable sleeping loft, kitchen, bathroom and a small garden with a patio. Energy efficiency is a major issue when designing new buildings. Selection of appropriate materials and manufacturing methods are vital to reduce carbon emissions, and thus was chosen wood to the positive qualities of carbon, as a renewable resource that can be sourced locally to reduce transportation. It was selected as the manufacturer flexible way because of it production and technical compilation of which can be done on-site to reduce construction time.
By displaying this well-planned and sustainable student apartments we want to challenge the views of the traditional view and show new ways of thinking. What is "good" to live? What are the materials that we can use? To face the future in a sustainable manner should be innovative in all aspects and have the courage to break new ground, says Linda Camara in Tengbom architects.
